~~~~~~~~~~Jamaican history~~~~~~~~~~
I am trying to find the best, easiest and cheapest ways of making information on various aspects of Jamaican history available to as wide a public as possible. This page is an effort to organise my sites made on Google Page Creator.
Please email comments and suggestions to jamaicahistory@yahoo.com
At the moment I am working on several topics - the life of Stanley Morand, a great Jamaican comedian and singer; Rockfort Gardens, Kingston premier amusement venue 1899-1940s; 'practice dances', the working people's relaxation, 1890s-1920s; the Spanish 'Flu epidemic, 1918-19; the Exhibitions in Kingston in 1932 and 1934, and their organiser, T. H. Beecher; Jamaica's tennis players in the Golden Age - and anything else I come across in the mean time, such as beached whales and merry-go-rounds!
Have a look at other interesting Jamaicans I have known of for a long time but never previously researched -
